ABOUT MILESTONE CELEBRATIONS

Milestone Celebrations aims to give information of alternative and creative ways of celebrating the milestones of life. Whatever the occasion it is important that it should be unique and reflect personal values and beliefs. With a little imagination, inspirational occasions can be created without breaking the bank or damaging the planet.

Jean Francis has written 'Your Day Your Way' (Inspirational Weddings) in which she draws on a lifetime of experience as a party planner and caterer. Her second book 'Time to Go' offers ideas for thoughtful farewells that honour the life of the deceased and encourage those who wish to pre-plan their own funeral. Currently Jean is producing a book on Baby Naming and Welcoming Ceremonies.

Jean is able to give a Mentor Service in the form of one-to-one advice via e-mail and or telephone. She also runs workshops and gives talks on celebrating significant occasions, specialising particularly in funeral and memorial ceremonies.

ABOUT JEAN FRANCIS

Jean Francis began her career as a costume designer at the illustrious Royal Opera House after studying design, fashion and crafts at Epsom College of Art. She made and embellished costumes for opera and ballet productions.

Later she turned her talents to running her own highly successful catering business for a period of thirty years and specialised in themed occasions. She also managed her own restaurant.

Now, as part of the ARKA Original Funerals team in Brighton, Jean assists families in arranging personal and meaningful farewells. ARKA is an environmentally aware company focusing on woodland burials.
